From the LA Basin to the Strip in 45 minutes
For AvSky clients, a private jet to Vegas is about reclaiming time and eliminating friction. By removing the unpredictability of Interstate 15 traffic and avoiding the delays inherent to LA’s commercial terminals, we provide a stress-free link between the coast and the desert. You fly on your own schedule (not the airline's), with the ability to be wheels-up with as little as two hours' notice.
We optimize the logistics by aligning the departure airport with your location in the basin. If you're in the North (Valley, Hollywood, Malibu), Van Nuys (VNY) or Burbank (BUR) offer an immediate exit. If you're in the South (Downtown, South Bay, Orange County), Hawthorne (HHR) or Long Beach (LGB) allow you to skip the cross-town traffic entirely. In Las Vegas, we apply the same precision, coordinating your arrival to place you minutes from the Strip or the quiet of the southern valley.

Dedicated private facilities like Van Nuys and Henderson offer a significant advantage: the absence of commercial airline traffic allows for "ramp-side" access, where your vehicle drives directly to the aircraft steps for immediate boarding. In contrast, mixed-use hubs like Burbank and Harry Reid provide unbeatable proximity to major business districts and the Strip, but require navigating busier airspace and stricter ground security. We help you weigh these trade-offs to ensure your airport choice optimizes the entire door-to-door timeline.

The ultimate time-buy on the West Coast
This is the highest-volume charter route in the United States. The flight is short enough to be impulsive but saves enough time to be rational. The ability to leave an office in Century City at 4:00 PM and be seated for dinner at Carbone by 6:30 PM is the defining value proposition.
The flight time is roughly 45-55 minutes. However, traffic in the air can be heavy during peak demand. The push back to LA often results in ATC delays into the busy SoCal airspace. We monitor these flow programs and may suggest adjusting your departure time slightly to avoid peak rushes and ensure a smoother arrival.
For such a short hop, the Very Light Jet (VLJ) category (like the Citation Mustang) is highly efficient for couples. However, for groups of 4-6, the Light Jet (Phenom 300 or Citation CJ3) is the standard workhorse, offering speed and comfort without paying for unneeded range.
Connectivity remains important even on short flights. If you need to clear your inbox before landing, please specify your connectivity needs during the booking process so we can filter for aircraft that keep you online. Catering on this route is often light due to the short duration, but we can arrange for specific beverages, fresh juices, or light snacks to be waiting on board. (If you need something more extensive, we're always happy to do whatever we can to make it happen!)
The Logistics Notebook
John Wayne Airport (SNA) has one of the strictest noise curfews in the nation. You must depart Vegas early enough to land by 10:00 PM (Mon-Sat) or 11:00 PM (Sun). If you're delayed and miss the window, you will be forced to divert to LAX or Ontario. We buffer schedules to prevent this.
While everyone wants to land at LAS for the view, the taxi times and ramp congestion can be frustrating. Henderson (HND) is often the superior choice. It's a dedicated executive airport with zero commercial traffic. You can often be in your vehicle and on the highway at Henderson before a jet at LAS has even reached its parking spot
Because this route has such massive volume, it generates a significant number of "empty legs" (repositioning flights). If your schedule is flexible — for example, if you can fly off-peak or one-way — let us know. This corridor offers some of the best one-way pricing opportunities in the market.
During major events like F1, the Super Bowl, or major boxing matches, Las Vegas airports implement "Slot Reservation Programs" (PPR). These slots sell out weeks in advance and often come with non-refundable special event fees. Booking early for these dates is not a luxury; it is a logistical necessity.
Harry Reid International (LAS) is physically the closest, located just across the street from the Mandalay Bay and the south end of the Strip. It offers iconic views of the casinos on approach. However, proximity isn't always speed. The sheer size of the airport means longer taxi times. Henderson (HND) is about 15-20 minutes away by car but offers a much faster ground experience.
You can, but we almost never recommend it unless you are connecting from a commercial flight. The traffic loop to get into the private terminals at LAX can be gridlocked, and the taxi times for departure can exceed 30 minutes. Hawthorne (HHR) is located just 3 miles east of LAX, avoids the chaos, and is the far superior option for clients in the South Bay.
Yes, and it can be a smart value play if speed isn't your primary concern. A King Air 350 takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, compared to 50 minutes in a jet. The cost savings can be significant, and the difference in door-to-door time is negligible once you factor in the drive to the airport. For golf trips with heavy bags, the King Air is often the preferred aircraft.
During high-volume periods, ATC flow control is common. If you have a specific "wheels up" time booked, it is critical to be at the FBO 20 minutes early. If you miss your slot due to a late arrival, you might be placed at the back of the queue, resulting in a ground delay of an hour or more while ATC spaces out the arrivals into the LA basin.
Yes, we coordinate this frequently. If your casino host is arranging a limousine or Rolls-Royce pickup, simply connect us with them. We will provide the tail number and FBO location directly to their dispatch team to ensure the driver is staged at the correct terminal (or planeside, where permitted) the moment you arrive.
