AvSky Charters’ Journey of Growth and Purpose Featured in Florida Trend

Florida Trend’s NextGen series profiles Florida’s emerging business leaders and entrepreneurs who are shaping the state’s economic future.

When leading business journal Florida Trend called to feature AvSky in its NextGen series, the story they told was one we’ve been living for years — a decade-long climb from a single phone line in Sarasota County to a full-scale aviation company spanning aircraft sales, parts, and now, private charters.

The profile, titled Chartering Success, captures how our founder, Tyler Holt, started AvSky Corporation in 2015 after four years of cold-calling and deal-making at a jet brokerage.

Tyler wanted more independence, more accountability, and the ability to build a team that valued loyalty as much as results. Ten years later, that vision has grown into a multifaceted enterprise with a 13-person team, an expanding charter division, and a clear sense of direction.

But for us, the most meaningful part of the story isn’t about growth charts or transaction counts. It’s about why we launched AvSky Charters — and how far that idea has come in just over a year.

AvSky Charters Takes Flights

AvSky Charters was born in early 2024, out of a simple realization: clients who trusted us to buy or sell their aircraft were also looking for a team they could trust to plan and execute their private flights.

Led by our CEO Cameron Cary, the charter division started the way all good things do: quietly, with a lot of listening and a fair amount of trial and error.

“It took us six months just to figure out the basics,” Tyler told Florida Trend. But once the systems were in place, the momentum was unmistakable.

Finding Our Purpose In a Moment of Crisis

One of our very first missions became a defining moment for our team. It wasn’t a typical charter; it was a humanitarian effort. As civil unrest erupted in Haiti, we knew we had to act. Our team flew two critical missions, evacuating 30 people and bringing them to safety.

“It was a cool way to start,” Tyler told Florida Trend. “It felt like we were doing something good.”

That experience solidified our company’s purpose, reminding us that our expertise and resources could make a profound impact when it matters most. It set the standard for the integrity and mission-focused approach we bring to every flight.

Accelerating Growth on Florida’s Gulf Coast

Since that pivotal moment, our charter business has seen remarkable growth. After completing approximately 20 flights in our first year, we matched that number in the first quarter of 2025 alone. Now, we’re on a trajectory to increase our charter volume fivefold this year.

A key catalyst for this expansion is our new partnership and on-site office at Venice Municipal Airport, a strategic alliance that enhances our ability to serve clients throughout the region and beyond.

As Tyler noted in the article, our Sarasota County home provides a powerful foundation for growth, thanks to its business-friendly environment and proximity to major Florida destination.

It also perfectly positions AvSky Charters to be a premier provider of private flights to the Bahamans, the Caribbean, and other key island locations — including routes to remote and often hard-to-reach airstrips that we’ve become experts in since our founding.

A Foundation For the Future

Our charter services are a vital part of the broader AvSky network, which includes our established aircraft sales division and our aviation parts business in Englewood. Together, these divisions create a comprehensive, client-focused aviation platform that delivers seamless solutions, whether a client is purchasing an aircraft or booking a private flight.

The next chapter in our journey is just around the corner. In early 2026, we’re moving into our new headquarters — a 4,000-square-foot office in downtown Wellen Park.

This new space represents a significant milestone, providing a central hub for our growing team.

“It will be good to get our people under one roof,” Tyler said, “and build a real culture.”

Of course, AvSky Charters will continue to maintain its office on-site at the Venice Airport, where we’re the exclusive charter partner of Skyport Aviation (Venice Municipal’s only FBO).

This move, our expanding operations, and the recognition from Florida Trend all point to a future of continued growth and opportunity. We’re incredibly grateful to our clients and partners for being a part of our story.
