AvSky Corporation, the parent company of AvSky Charters, joined Will Kimmel’s No. 69 Kimmel Racing Ford Mustang as a sponsor for the Menards 150 at Kansas Speedway on Friday, September 25, 2026 — the season finale of the ARCA Menards Series, broadcast live on FS1.
Officially entered as the No. 69 AvSky/Aviation Technology Ford, the red Mustang carried the AvSky Corporation logo on its rear quarter panel. AvSky was one of several aviation companies that backed the family-owned Indiana team for its last race of the year.
Race Night at Kansas Speedway
The Menards 150 is 100 laps on Kansas Speedway’s 1.5-mile oval, and this year’s edition settled the 2026 ARCA championship. Twenty-seven cars took the green flag under the lights after a damp, chilly day of rain at the track.
Aviation Technology, a Louisville-based Part 145 maintenance provider, carried the hood. AvSky Corporation, LuxMist, R3 Aviation Marketing and Old Commonwealth Distillery were among the partners on the rest of the car — what the team called “a ton of new support” for the finale. Before the race, Kimmel stopped by the Aviation Technology VIP suite to spend time with AvSky and other sponsors and guests.
Carson Brown won the race, and Thomas Annunziata took the championship on a tiebreaker. Kimmel was running in the top five when he spun in fluid in Turn 4 on lap 41. Points leader Jake Bollman couldn’t avoid the No. 69, and Austin Vaughn was collected too. All three drivers were checked and released at the infield care center, but the damage ended Kimmel’s night, and he was scored 23rd.
A Racing Family Since 1949
Kimmel Racing began with one trip to the track. In 1949, Bill Kimmel Sr. watched his friend Cotton Priddy haul a race car to Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and bought a car of his own the next week. “Big Bill” went on to win more than 500 features and 12 track championships across the Midwest.
He raised three racing sons. Thom raced in the 1960s before serving in Vietnam. Bill Jr. worked on his father’s cars, won titles at Charlestown and Louisville Motor Speedway, and in 1999 became crew chief for his brother Frank Kimmel — whose 10 ARCA championships and 80 wins make him the most successful driver in series history.
More than 75 years on, the team is still family-owned and still based in Clarksville, Indiana. It calls itself an independent, blue-collar team, and the Kimmels still run it themselves.
The family also runs the Young Racers Safety Fund in Big Bill’s memory. He loved helping young drivers pursue racing safely, and the fund carries that on by providing them with safety equipment.
Will Kimmel, Bill Jr.’s son, is a native of nearby Sellersburg who started in Mini-Cups in 1998. At 19 he became the youngest driver to win the Super Late Model championship at Salem Speedway, and he has since logged more than 100 feature wins, more than 140 ARCA starts, and races in NASCAR’s Truck, Xfinity and Cup Series.
He came into Kansas off one of his best nights of the year. On September 12 he finished third in the Spruce 212 at Salem Speedway in front of his hometown crowd — “competitive as long as I had a brake pedal,” as he put it afterward.
